Our Program

Family in Community

RTH staffs a dedicated group of Teaching-Parents in 24-hour home supervision. Our goal is to invest in the boys we serve by building loving, dependable relationships with each boy - and their family, as allowable. Our boys live within a neighborhood setting, attend our local schools, have their medical visits at local doctors and clinics, shop at the nearby stores, and have outings in the public areas of our community. We hold regular family meetings, and value the input and feedback from all youth. We care... and we teach them to care.  It's their home, and ours!

Education & Outreach

From day one in our home, we teach all boys Independent Living skills! They do their own laundry, chores, and household cleaning. We utilize the LYFT Learning curriculum, in addition to our own RTH classes and local learning trips to Metroparks or art museums -all designed to empower and prepare youth for a successful transition into adulthood.  We also host art and crafting sessions, with licensed art teachers.  To aid the local schools attended, RTH also employs two licensed educators to facilitate study times and ensure youths are keeping track with their varied levels of learning.

Resources to Enrich

We celebrate holidays and birthdays like any other family... cake, cards, gifts, and fun for each boy! We offer weekly opportunities for spiritual, relational and emotional enrichment. As our boys mature, we work with state employment specialists (OOD) to aid them in seeking valuable work experience while in our care. We encourage them in working a reasonable schedule, and support them with resources to help manage their own finances. We take regular vacations to fun sites in our region, to both enrich their memories and retain the highest sense of family lifestyle possible.
